Poem (Feat T-Pain)

*

I’m sending you a snap in the office bathroom
No filter
Here’s 3 seconds
My blotchy face
A sliver of my bare thigh on the toilet seat

Things you don’t see:
The bathroom lights turning off
Because I’ve been sitting still for way too long
My greasy hair
Ridden with dandruff
Because I can’t stop picking at my scalp

Always thinking of good lines without having a pen
Dreaming without making any concrete plans

If you look at someone long enough
Do you feel closer to them
Or farther away

Bart Simpson writing on the chalkboard
I WILL NOT FALL IN LOVE W SOMEONE OVER THE INTERNET
Over and over and over again

I like words but I love when they start to lose their meaning

The most important thing when drawing something accurately
Is looking at it for a long time and really seeing it
Making sure your brain doesn’t try to fill in the blanks with what it wants

I’m peeling off my fingerprints for you
And showing you the small bits of translucent skin
I’m replaying this snap of you
Until I forget what I want you to mean
